Usable outside space can be hard to come by in SW1. VCCP, not surprisingly, wanted to make the most of their ageing terrace area. The existing decking was damaged beyond repair so this necessitated a new design and build.
Our brief was clear – create an inviting and comfortable place, suitable for teams and clients. Maximise the amount of seating with additional storage.
Following the initial site meeting, we provided digital visualisations to illustrate our vision for a contemporary and highly-functional space. Works approval quickly followed and we began on-site. Safe removal and disposal of the old decking, clearance of service water drainage and repair to the existing framework were all required prior to the rebuild.
The fit-out began with the new decking going down. Next, our carpenters constructed bespoke crate seating units. Designed to appear as standard box seats they conceal considerable storage for beverages, glassware and accessories. Supply and setup of the tables and benches came next. Finally, a full redecoration harmonised all of the wood-work and refreshed the external building and balcony walls.
The new terrace now offers a chance to escape outside and enjoy London’s skyline. VCCP staff and clients alike love using the new space.
